As time goes on, the UAE’s great cities – Dubai and Abu Dhabi – are becoming increasingly popular as tourist destinations, and the country’s incredible theme parks, attractions, and epic water parks make it the perfect option for young families. There are so many great places to take your kids and the best time of year to visit is in autumn, winter, and spring, making it the perfect Christmas or Easter getaway!
Dubai’s Incredible Water Parks
There’s something incredibly impressive and decadent about having a huge water park in such an arid country. You’d think having such a dry, hot climate would make building a water park so difficult that there would be only one specialist park. However, there’s been a huge trend in recent years and Dubai has several extravagant water parks to choose from…
Wild Wadi Water Park
Wild Wadi Park is one of the best as it has 30 different rides and attractions spread over an incredible 12-acre complex. It has a wave pool that can be heated or cooled, it has numerous exhilarating water slides, and it has an incredible 18m waterfall that activates every ten minutes, providing revelers with a stunning spectacle. And all of this is happening in such close proximity to the desert! It’s amazing!
Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark
Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark is also a brilliant place to take your kids if you’re visiting Dubai. Part of the appeal of Atlantis Aquaventure is that you can see various different aquatic animals in the aquarium as well as enjoying the incredible waterslides and attractions. You can even chill out on a private beach area if that’s more your style!
Legoland Water Park
It’s a scientific fact that all kids love Lego and all kids love water parks (as we’ve discussed above). That’s why Dubai’s Legoland Water Park is the perfect place to take your kids — or will be when they’ve finished making it. The age range is between 2 to 12, so there will be plenty for younger kids to get up to! The park isn’t open just yet, but it can be expected in late 2019. Make sure to keep your eye on the opening date if the idea of a Legoland Water Park appeals to you and your kids.
Balloon Flight
Another great option, after you’ve been to one of Dubai’s many water parks, is our balloon flight experience. If you’re trying to ensure your kids have the time of their lives, then there could be nothing more thrilling for them (and you) than a balloon trip across the Arabian peninsula! This is a wonderful way to take in the beauty and majesty of the desert and it’s a fantastic experience for parents and children to share. Being outdoors and enjoying the sense of freedom it provides is a nice change from some of the enclosed water parks and theme parks Dubai has to offer.
Legoland Dubai
We’ve already talked about the scientific fact that all kids love Lego and that the Legoland Water Park will be open next year. But there is already a Legoland theme park for you and your little ones to enjoy in the meantime! Legoland Dubai has over 40 different rides, all LEGO® themed, with opportunities to build things and play with Lego at different parts throughout the park! It is recommended for kids between the ages of 2 and 12, and it’s the perfect family day out.
