1. Visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

The main mosque in the country is the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque named after the late Qaboos bin Said al Said. The mosque was built with indian sandstones and can accommodate 25,000 worshippers daily.

Inside the mosque lies the 1st largest single piece carpet in the world and unfortunately it is now moved to the 2nd ranking after the creation of the carpet from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi that is now considered as the largest in the world.

At the same time, the mosque’s chandelier is now considered as the 2nd largest after the one from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as well.

2. Have a Dolphin Cruise in Muscat

Muscat is also a great spot to sight dolphins in the coast of Oman. This activity is a must to see as there are 21 different species of dolphins and whales around the ocean. This is an enjoyable experience aboard the sea, to find the dolphins and see how they live in their habitat freely and will gain you additional learnings from the marine mammals and environment.

3. Visit the Forts & Castles in Muscat

There are approximately 500 forts, castles and towers in the whole country of Oman. This symbolizes the historical protection for the locals in the past.
